چکیده
This study compares the antioxidant properties (RSADPPH–DPPH radical scavenging activity, FRAP–ferric reducing activity power, and FIC–ferrous ion-chelating activity), total phenolics (TP), flavonoids (TF), catechin profiles, as well caffeine content of Azorean Camellia sinensis green tea collected in seasons two different years. The RSADPPH showed some variation between 2019 2020, presented, general, better results 2020 during summer seasons. FRAP was also noted to be at its highest July August investigated years (6.64 6.40 µg/mL 5.85 5.46 2020). According FIC sample exhibited value (76.18%). TP varied 291.14 326.93 mg gallic acid equivalents (GAE)/g dried extract (DE) 300.25 320.58 GAE/g DE 2020. Concerning TF, values 51.85 67.93 rutin (RE)/g 50.27 69.57 RE/g Epicatechins derivatives, determined by HPLC, presented higher all samples from compared 2019, same observed for esterified catechins. epigallocatechin-3-gallate (214.52–240.16 mg/g DE) (140.91–210.83 DE). Regarding (12.86–20.45 13.19–29.35 2020), April June similar both In than with exception while TF contents certain months reflect impact climatic on quality.

Determination of phenolic compounds and antioxidant activity of green, black and white teas of Camellia sinensis (L.) Kuntze, Theaceae
Green, black and white teas are all produced from leaves and shoots of Camellia sinensis, the only difference is how they are processed. The aim of this study was to compare the total phenols and flavonoid contents and antioxidant capacity of green, black and white tea bags of different brands. The morphodiagnosis of leaves was used to identification of plant material. HPLC-DAD fingerprinting c...

The antioxidant and anticandidal activities of leaves obtained from Camellia sinensis by non-fermentation (green and white teas), semi-fermentation (red tea) and fermentation method (black tea) were investigated. It was evaluated the total phenolic content by Folin-Ciocalteau assay; antioxidant capacities were evaluated in vitro using DPPH and ABTS radicals, hypochlorous acid and superoxide ani...
متن کاملEffect of green tea (Camellia sinensis (L.) Kuntze) extract on sperm health parameters in adult rats treated with Bisphenol A
Background: Bisphenol A (BPA) disturbs male reproductive system performance via the production of free radicals. Green tea extract (GTE) is known as a potent antioxidant. Objective: The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of co-treatment of BPA and GTE as an antioxidant on male reproductive system performance. Methods: Adult male rats were divided into 4 groups: control, Bisphenol A...
متن کاملProtective Effect of Green Tea (Camellia sinensis (L.) Kuntze) against Prostate Cancer: From In Vitro Data to Algerian Patients
Green tea (GT) has been studied for its effects as antioxidant and cancer-preventive agent. Epidemiological studies showed that GT consumption decreases the risk for prostate cancer (PC). To investigate whether erythrocyte oxidative stress (OS) is associated with PC and whether daily consumption of GT improves the oxidative phenotype, we performed a study in a group of Algerian PC patients, pre...
